'Local Hubs and Global Gateways': Understanding the impact of Singapore's master plan on urban polycentricity

Abstract

This paper examines how Singapore’s master plan reshapes urban polycentricity under the “Local hubs and global gateways” strategy. Using spatial interaction modelling and network analysis, it evaluates how planned interventions redistribute urban functions while the CBD remains a dominant node in the wider metropolitan system.
